KB speak

Me: KB, am going to bite you and bite you and bite you...

KB - No, Mamma, only mosquito can bite...you don't bite...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me: KB, can I gobble you up?

KB: NO, no no, only turkey can do gobble gobble...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me: KB!!!! STOP doing that (if he acts crazy while eating - often leading to throwing up because he is laughing with food in his mouth).

KB: Mammmmaaa, Mammma...(as if to a child) - I don't want to stop Mamma...only Daddy will stop at a red light!

Me - still keeping a stern face.

KB - Mamma? You happy? Can you smile? (things I say to him when he looks upset!)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me : While sitting casually at the couch after dinner: KB, Why did you trouble Mamma today? Kutti baby was crying because she hurt herself. Why did you cry? You should not have cried like that for no reason. You should have helped Mamma...I am disappointed KB!

KB: Mamma, I am kidding!

Me: You're kidding?

KB: Mamma, nee chollu, I am kidding! (Mamma, you say "I am kidding")!

Me: No dear, I am not kidding, I am serious, why did you trouble Mamma?

KB: Mamma, Nee chollu mamma, I am kidding chollu! (Tell me you are kidding Mamma!).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me: While patting and singing "Ganesh Pancharatnam" as always for his afternoon nap and seeing him keeping his eyes wide open at the end of the song : KB!! Close your eyes!! Close!!!

KB: Closing his eyes mutters - Mamma - I am going to throw "close" in the garage! You should not say close.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me: While getting him ready to go out and him running wildly to the couch and jumping on top of it: KB, come right now! If not, I am going to leave you and go!

KB: Not liking my loud tone: NO!! Mamma!! I am going to throw "leave you" in the vacuum cleaner...adhu appdiye odanju poidum! (Leave you will break into pieces). I am going to throw it into the sky! Reach'e panna mudiyadhu! (can't reach it!).

How do we know - thanks for your sweet comment and for visiting...first time I assume...nice to see you here!

Mala - thanks! :)

GND - Yeah really everything from their first word to complex sentences to complex thoughts - just leaves you in awe - the process of development...

Neera - I wish I would sit and write more about them so I will also enjoy it years later...just totally forget even in a matter of months isn't it - some little interesting things they say or do...
No, I have never told him things like that - I have no idea where he came up with it - although I am sure he is building on something he heard us say in some other context...

KB is just too cute! I love the way he tosses the words he doesn't like in the garage and the vacuum cleaner! The association of the 'undesirable' with the garage (out of the home) and vacuum cleaner (removing dirt/bad stuff) is so smart and creative! :)

Hahahah you sure have a talker noonie!! And very soon,he is going to be pointing out words like disappointed and upset!! Or better still, use them on you!!

Suma - Thanks! :) Yeah truly fascinating!

MM - Thanks! Yeah I never thought of it that way - but yeah - that's probably what it is - throwing out the undesirable! :)

Trish - oh yes...these days he has literally stopped his afternoon naps...hopefully once he starts school he will start it again - but anyways - I tell him to keep quiet for some time and just close his eyes and dream about what he did in his mommy and me class today - he closes his eyes and immediately says "Naa quiet'aa thaachi pannindrukken mamma. I am not dreaming mamma" (I am sleeping quietly mamma...I am not dreaming mamma) and on and on about what he is doing with his eyes closed! He just can't stop talking to me when he is alone with me...
He doesn't use "disappointed" yet but he tells me "I am sad mamma...why did you yell at me?" and all that stuff with his face all sullen!
